Mental health is an important field that requires research and study. Mental health is the source of effectiveness and quality for anyone who is reliable and socially effective.  Today in the Algerian society, it is found that a lot of people complain of psychological insecurity and emotional stability. This renders them unable to adapt to normal life. The requirements of the complex and difficult daily life and difficult make us highlight the importance of having an emotionally, mentally and physically balanced person, if we want society to develop and grow properly. The treatment of all forms of disorders (psychological, social and educational) which individuals suffer from is considered necessary to achieve mental health which is vital for development and growth. Therefore, the mental health team will try to pay attention to the following elements:

  • Diagnosis and evaluation of the reality of mental health in schools and in social environments.
    • Suggesting methods and strategies to activate mental health.
    • Proposing models to reach mental health

Training and Research

  • Training students in the field of psychological counseling
  • Opening a Magistère course in psychological counseling and clinical psychology at the University of Ouargla.
  • Opening a Magistère course in mental health and school adaptation for the academic year 2011-2012, and opening of a Magistère course in clinical psychology for the academic year 2012-2013

Team 4: The problem of subject-matter didactics

President: Pr. Labouz Abdellah

Subject-matter didactics is a short description of the broad content of the didactic educational process and its multiple levels. The researcher in this area adopts a specific methodology, which is determined by the path of research, namely:

  • First: to identify areas of research in subject-matter didactics in general.
  • Second: to focus on determining the levels of study to be researched.
  • Third: to determine the field of research more accurately.

Hence the research cell in the subject-matter didactics focuses its research field:

  • In terms of levels as follows:
  • Preparatory level.
  • Primary level.
  • Middle School level.
  • Secondary level.
  • University level.
  • In terms of subject, it focuses on:
  • Teaching languages ​​(Arabic, French, English)
  • Teaching mathematical concepts.
  • In terms of category:
  • Classes of ordinary children.
  • Classes of children with special needs.

The objective of this research is:

  • To explore the situation of subject-matter didactics at the preparatory and school level for both ordinary children and children with special needs.
  • To explore the situation of subject-matter didactics at the specified levels and categories in terms of:
  • Curriculum and educational programmes.
  • Educational objectives.
  • Educational content.
  • Teaching methods and pedagogical activity.
  • Educational means and media.
  • Educational assessment.

Team 2: The problem of human and educational relations in educational institutions

President: Pr. Nadia Bouchellaleg

 The human relations unit has the following aims:

  1. Examining the reality of human relations in educational and administrative environments
  2. Diagnosing the causes of insufficiency of educational and communicative performance.
  3. Proposing alternatives to correct the situation of human relations in the educational environment.

The unit activity includes:

- Supervising field training for students and researchers in educational institutions.

- Examining the situation of pedagogical communication and human relations at university context.

- Human relations challenges in the development and activation of administrative communication

Team 3: The problem of modern measurement methods in educational assessment

President: Pr. Meziani Lounes

- To provide a critical reading of the current methods of measurement and assessment.

- To highlight the impact of measurement and assessment on the process of learning and teaching.

- To review the latest measurement and evaluation methods applied in the Arab and foreign countries.

- To carry out studies and conduct scientific research on modern measurement methods used in the field of educational assessment.

- To develop new strategies and methods of measurement and educational assessmen.

- To organize meetings and seminars in the field of measurement and educational assessment to host professors and experts in the field

- The organization of research symposia on modern methods of measurement and educational assessment.

- To organize seminars for students and student-teachers, as well as advisors and professors interested in the field of assessment.

- Designing modern tests and standards for educational assessment.

- Communication with universities and research centres at the national level, the Arab world level and foreign level in order to cooperate in the field of measurement and assessment.

The Laboratory for the Development of Psychological and Educational Practices in the Process of Learning and Education

Objectives of scientific research / or technological development

The main objective is to activate educational psychological practices by means of the following:

  • Designing educational psychological guidance programmes for the development and improvement of educational psychological services in educational institutions;
  • Developing effective strategies to activate educational human relations in educational institutions;
  • Upgrading the means of measurement in educational assessment on the basis of more effective and modern criteria;
  • Developing fresh methods and models to promote the process of learning and classroom education that correspond to the aspirations of teachers and learners and to the requirements of the modern era;
  • Issuing a scientific journal that reports all subjects related to the laboratory (the first issue is being prepared);
  • Establishing scientific partnership with Arab and foreign universities (Project of agreements with some universities);
  • Participating in and organizing of national and international conferences on the themes of the laboratory;
  • Opening postgraduate courses (Proposal of 3 projects to open a Magistère course related to research axes of the laboratory).

Manifestation Scientifique

Les départements développent des relations d’échanges et de coordination avec les structures d’enseignement, de Recherche et de Développement impliquées ou intéressées par les problèmes environnementaux et l’agriculture dans les régions sahariennes. A cet effet, de nombreuses conventions sont signées, constituant ainsi un cadre organisé avec l’INRA, le CDTN[1], l’IFP[2] et l’ONM[3].

 En outre, des relations très étroites sont entretenues d’une façon permanente avec la profession représentée essentiellement par les agriculteurs, les inspections et directions de l’environnement, les structures technico-administratives et de développement relevant du Ministère de l’Agriculture (DSA, Subdivisions, Chambres d’Agriculture, CDARS, INPV, ITDAS,…), de la direction de wilaya de l’environnement et de la Sonatrach.

 Sur le plan international, et malgré une conjoncture défavorable, de nombreux échanges ont été établis avec des structures et organismes essentiellement par la participation des enseignants chercheurs à des manifestations scientifiques et les enseignements post-gradués.
